TWO former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) have voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Eastern Visayas following the intensive anti-insurgency program in the region.
Authorities identified the surrenderers as Alias Ikyan, 24, a resident of Arteche, Eastern Samar, and a 36-year-old member of Yunit Milisyang Bayan who is a resident of Victoria, Northern Samar.
The 36-year-old NPA member also turned in one caliber 37 with defaced serial number and two ammunition, according to the information released by the Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas on Monday, December 6, 2021.
The respective police units have facilitated the documents of the two surrenders for them to avail of the National Government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Livelihood Program (E-Clip). (SunStar Philippines)
