P8.5M party drugs seized

NEARLY 5,000 pieces of suspected party drugs were seized by combined operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon, Bureau of Customs Port of Clark and Philippine National Police during a controlled delivery operation conducted on Tuesday afternoon, December 7, 2021.

Authorities reported the package containing the suspected illegal drugs arrived at the Port of Clark on December 3.

The package was reportedly consigned to a certain Ana Fe Morilla, alias Jonat Ileve, of Las Piñas City who was arrested during the operation.

Authorities also reported that the subject package arrived from Belgium and was declared as “lamp” but after undergoing initial test using Rigaku narcotics device, the package indicated the presence of MDMA, prompting authorities to conduct a controlled delivery operation.

Seized from Morilla were 4,970 pieces of ecstasy tablets with street value of P8,500,000 and other personal belongings.

A charge for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs), of Article II of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the arrested lady consignee.
