OPERATIVES of Police Station 3 are looking into grudge as possible motive in the killing of a manicurist in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City past 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 6.

Police Major Richard Fajarito, chief of Police Station 3, identified the victim as Alma De la Cruz, 41, of Barangay Banago.

Investigation showed that Dela Cruz was inside an internet café when an unidentified assailant, who was wearing a helmet, barged in and fired at her.

Dela Cruz, who sustained a gunshot wound on her head, died on the spot.

The assailant escaped along with his unidentified companion who served as a lookout, Fajarito said, adding that the gunman was clad in yellow shirt, shorts and slippers.

The two other minors, who were also playing inside the establishment when the shooting took place, were unhurt.

An empty cartridge case of .45 caliber was recovered from the crime scene, police records showed.

"The way she was killed shows that the suspect was angry with the victim," Fajarito said.

He said the area has a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera, but they could not identify the gunman since he was wearing a helmet.

The police official said they are still conducting further investigation to determine the background of the victim.

Based on initial information they received, however, it was found out that the victim’s husband is currently in jail for illegal drug charges.
