THE Iloilo provincial government targets to administer 183,159 vaccines during the second round of the Bayanihan, Bakunahan from December 15 to 17, 2021.
It is equivalent to 61,053 jabs daily, according to the data of the Provincial Health Office.
This is lower than the 338,517 target jabs during the first round last November 29 to December 1.
The city/municipalities with the highest target were Oton, Lambunao, Passi City, Miagao, Carles, Tigbauan, Janiuay, Dumangas, Ajuy, and Calinog.
The municipality of Guimbal, which has already achieved 104-percent vaccination rate, was excluded from the second round.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. issued a memorandum to the city/municipal mayors and punong barangays on December 8 to prepare for the Bayanihan, Bakunahan II.
He requested the city/municipal health offices to conduct a pre-registration of eligible population at the barangay level, particularly at the household level.
In line with Bayanihan Bakunahan II, Brigada Bakuna will be conducted in strategic secondary schools in the province to vaccinate the pediatric population with their family members and to distribute self-learning modules to secondary students.
It will be conducted in partnership with the Department of Education, school administrators, and teachers.
Incentives will also be given to those who will get vaccinated during the three-day national vaccination.
The incentives will be determined by the city/municipal mayors and will be augmented by the province.
The province of Iloilo only vaccinated a total of 137,555 individuals during the first round of Bayanihan, Bakunahan which is below 50 percent of the total target.
As of December 8, a total of 931,542 or 64 percent of the total eligible population in the province already received their first dose. A total of 564,630 individuals or 39 percent have been fully vaccinated. (PR)
