THOUSANDS of residents of Arayat whose houses were damaged by Typhoon "Ulysses" received on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, financial aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The town's first lady, Madeth Alejandrino, who facilitated the distribution on behalf of her husband, Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino, said some 2,500 residents benefitted from the DSWD's Emergency Shelter Assistance program.

Each of the beneficiaries received P7,100 cash, which is intended to cover the expenses for the repair of their houses damaged by the typhoon.

She also expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries for their understanding despite the nearly-a-year delay on the distribution of assistance.

Alejandrino also assured residents that she will continue to coordinate with different government agencies to provide the needed assistance to fellow Arayateños.

"Para man sa pandemya, sa bakuhan o kahit anong tulong, tuluy-tuloy po tayong lalapit at makikipag-ugnayan para mabigyan ng tulong ang ating mga kababayan," she said.
