Silay City Police Station Chief Lieutenant Colonel Robert Petate said victim Leopoldo Agudon, 52, of Barangay 1 in the city, was about to park his canter truck when the gunman approached and shot him several times.

Petate said the suspect fled on a motorcycle while Agudon succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on his way to the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in the city.

Petate added that they have yet to establish the motive behind the crime, adding that they are now coordinating with the victim’s family if he has been receiving death threats before he was shot.

On Wednesday, Carl John Navalsca, 25, of Crossing Bag-o in Barangay San Jose Binalbagan, was found with a stab wound on the neck at a canal near a sugarcane plantation at Hacienda San Ramon in Barangay Manalad, town police chief Captain Thurslie Castillo said.

Navlasca was identified by his live-in partner, whose name is being withheld, and who admitted that the victim is involved in illegal drug trade, Castillo said.

He said that based on the tattoos on Navlasca’s body, it is possible that the latter was already imprisoned before.

On Thursday, Captain Jhonny Guilot of Barangay Minapasok in Calatrava town reported to the police that the body of a still-unidentified man was found near a river in the barangay around 6 a.m.
