A TOTAL of 11,994, or 99.47 percent out of 12,058 police personnel in Eastern Visayas were already vaccinated, according to the police regional command based in Palo, Leyte.

“The vaccine will not only benefit the ones receiving it but also those who will get in touched with that person, and that is your loved ones,” said Brigadier General Rommel Bernardo Cabagnot, regional director, as he urged the remaining police personnel to get inoculated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

As of December 12, 2021, the police regional command recorded a total of 10,898 personnel who are fully vaccinated, while personnel who got their first dose of the vaccine are 1,096.

A total of 64 personnel have yet to be vaccinated.

“If you get vaccinated, you are not only immunizing yourselves but also your families to not be exposed to the virus. Though the vaccine is not 100 percent assurance that you will not be exposed, at least, the effect will not be severe and that fatality will be avoided,” Cabagnot said.

According to the police regional command, the 64 remaining personnel who are not yet vaccinated “have their reasons such as religious beliefs, pregnant, lactating, exercising human rights, allergies, comorbidities, and underlying conditions.”

As this developed, the police regional command has conducted awareness seminars and lectures on the benefits of the Covid vaccine. (SunStar Philippines)
