53IB puts up Christmas village

THE Army's 53rd Infantry Battalion (IB) has established a Christmas Village to remind everyone the true essence of Christmas.

The Christmas village, which was opened to the public and its ceremonial lighting held last week, is located along Villanueva Road in Camp Sabido, home of the 53IB in Poblacion village, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

"This is one of giving thanks to the Almighty, represented by these colors and lights-joy, thanksgiving, and happiness," said Lieutenant Colonel Jo-ar Herrera, 53IB commander.

The Christmas Village features Christmas decorations such as Toy Land Christmas, Winter Wonderland Christmas, Christmas in our Hearts, Santa Claus Reindeer, Angel Christmas, Candy Land Christmas, Pasong Pinoy Village, Busy Christmas Village, Secret Garden Christmas, and Christmas Symbols.

The 53IB's Christmas Village is open to the public every 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., provided that the visitors are fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). (SunStar Zamboanga)
