DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio reminded Dabawenyos to keep and protect the information on their SafeDavao QR (DQR) Code as this will be utilized permanently by the City Government in the distribution of gifts or "ayuda" in the future.

Duterte-Carpio bared this in a radio interview on Monday, December 13, hoping that the next administration would utilize the DQR system in the "ayuda" payout.

"Hopefully, ang mosunod nga (the next) administration will continue to use DQR para sa mga ayuda and mga gifts para sa residents sa (for the distribution of assistance and gifts to our residents in) Davao City," the mayor said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.

Duterte-Carpio added the DQR will also serve as an "e-wallet" for Dabawenyos as this would link their bank accounts to avoid long queues and to make sure that they will easily be served.

She also said the hard plastic card will also serve as the senior citizen and persons with disability's identification.

"[V]ery important gyud ang DQR nato, mao na na siya atong [gamiton] para dili nata magtapok, dili nata sigeg patawag sa tao, mao na na ang gamiton kung naa tay ihatag nga assistance diha sa atong kaigsuunang Dabawenyo (The DQR is very important since we will be using it to avoid mass gatherings. We will utilize the system in giving assistance to our fellow Dabawenyos)," the mayor said.

The City Government, beginning December 8 until January 31, 2022, gave out Christmas "pahalipay" to city residents with their respective DQR.

Recipients will have a grocery pack and a P1,000 gift certificate through their DQR accounts.

She also said that non-resident DQR holders and and City Government employees are exempted from the pahalipay.

Duterte-Carpio said the current "pahalipay" is an alternative to the annual Christmas gift-giving at the Duterte residence in Davao City on Christmas Day, which did not push through this year due to the ongoing threat of the Covid-19 pandemic.
