“Let’s disrupt the industry.” This was what BE Group president Grand Benedicto said to chief operating officer Nova Noval before they took a leap of faith and decided to diversify the company’s portfolio by venturing into condominium living.
Over the years, the BE brand has become known for its chic tropical resorts, such as BE Resort Mactan in Lapu-Lapu and BE Grand Resort, Bohol in Panglao. Now, the company is shaking up the game with a new contender, an award-winning one at that.
On Dec. 10, 2021, the BE Group celebrated a new milestone as it finally topped off its first condominium project, BE Residences Lahug. The program kicked off with the ceremonial filling of the last patch of the roof deck floor.
But the real highlight of the event was Nova Noval as she, in windy conditions, rappelled down the side of the building from the 20th floor down to the Courtyard level on the fifth floor.
Needless to say, she took things to new heights.
BE Residences had its groundbreaking in September 2019. Once completed, the property will have a total of 640 units scattered across 20 floors. The property will also have the biggest swimming pool among the condominiums in the Cebu IT Park area.
Even when the lockdown happened and the world came to a sudden halt, construction is currently going smoothly and the project is still on track for its 2023 target of completion, which is quite an impressive feat for any real estate developer.
“We never compromised. We partnered with very good companies. Even during a pandemic, we’re still on time,” said Noval.
In November, BE Residences Lahug won “Best Condo Architectural Design” at the 9th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards. The win came as a surprise, according to Benedicto and Noval, since they were competing against bigger, more established developers in the category.
Aside from the strategic location, the unique unit offerings are undoubtedly one of its greatest selling points. BE Residences is the first to offer “Condovision,” a condominium inside a subdivision; and “Maisonettes,” which are three-storey units akin to a townhouse.
With construction right on schedule and a prestigious award to boot, the BE Group seems to be off to a great start with its foray into condominium residences.
