THE hospital and isolation bed utilization rates in Zamboanga City are presently at safe levels, the City Health Office (CHO) reported.
Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, CHO chief, said the hospital bed utilization rate was currently at 13.3 percent and isolation bed utilization rate is at 14.9 percent.
“We have about 11 isolation facilities, all of these are at safe level. We have almost 200 beds, to include the isolation facilities prepared by our barangays,” Miravite said.
“Our mega-isolation is ready but we do not have patients there because we only have 129 active cases as of Tuesday,” Miravite said.
The Zamboanga Task Force coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) data tracker showed that this city has 22,470 confirmed cases as of Thursday, December 16, with 21,264 recoveries, 119 active cases, and 1,087 deaths.
The data tracker showed that 46.7 percent of the active cases are asymptomatic, 20 percent with mild symptoms, 16.7 percent moderate, 13.3 percent severe, and 3.3 percent in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Miravite said the City Government continues to build its testing and isolation capacities to strengthen its local Covid-19 response in case of possible surges in cases.
She said the proficiency testing for this city’s molecular laboratory is expected to be done before the end of the year. (SunStar Zamboanga)
