A NEW two-room building will rise on the compound of Puertobello National High School in Tudela town, Camotes Island.

This was after the school was declared as the Fifth District winner of Capitol’s Sugbusog sa Eskuylahan district-level competition.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia visited the school and checked its Sugbusog garden on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021.

The inspection on the school’s Sugbusog garden was part of the governor’s three-day visit to the Camotes group of islands to groundbreaking ceremony of P3.9 million multipurpose covered court and P112 million circumferential road concreting project for Barangay San Juan in Pilar town, and the rollout of the fourth round of the the Cebu Provincial Government’s caravan of services on Dec. 2-4.

Gov. Garcia praised the school for having one of the beautiful Sugbusog gardens in Cebu Province, reported the Capitol-run Sugbo News.

The construction of a new school building is the governor’s reward to the school, and it is her way of appreciating the school’s teachers for their support of the Sugbusog program.

Sugbusog sa Eskuylahan aims to revive the interest of the youth in agriculture and teach them the value of growing and producing their food. The program also aims to boost one’s immune system and cultivate a healthy lifestyle by encouraging schoolchildren to eat vegetables.
