Over half a million in ‘shabu’ seized

AUTHORITIES seized over half a million pesos worth of shabu in buy-bust operations in Bacolod City on Friday, December 17, and Saturday, December 18, 2021.

The anti-illegal drugs operations also led to the arrests of Marvin Marjukie, 21, of Barangay Vista Alegre; Ariel Achura, 47, of Barangay 40; Marlon, 46, and Maxzell Aguirre, 27, both of Purok Sigay in Barangay 2, also in Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Achura was arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer in Purok Amaliz, Barangay 40 around 9:30 p.m. Friday, December 17.

Police recovered from Achura's possession 13 sachets of shabu weighing three grams valued at P20,400, the P500 marked money, coin purse and P404 cash.

Earlier Friday, December 17, Marjukie was arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 in Purok Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre past 8 p.m. with three sachets of shabu weighing eight grams and valued at P54,400.

Aside from the contraband, the police also seized P500 in marked money, a pouch and unidentified firearm loaded with two live ammunition of .9mm revolver.

On Saturday, December 18, the Aguilars were arrested at their residence after they reportedly transacted to a police poseur buyer.

The team, led by Lieutenant Joven Mogato, recovered 11 sachets of shabu weighing at least70 grams and valued at P476,000 from them during their arrests.

Gabana said Achura and Marjukie were identified as street level individuals, while the Aguilars are high-value individuals.

He said they were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.
