PERSONNEL of Police Station 2 are still collating evidence to determine the suspect in the killing of a drug surrenderee at Barangay 2 in Bacolod City on Christmas Day.

Lieutenant Jonito Pastrana, deputy commander of Police Station 2, said yesterday, December 27, that the murder of Elmar Gayatin, 27, could be related to illegal drugs.

Pastrana said that Gayatin, who was almost naked, was sleeping inside his house when an unidentified suspect barged in and shot him using an alleged .45 caliber pistol.

Gayatin died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

The police said the live-in partner of the victim, who was not named, went to a store and was only informed that he was already killed inside their house.

Investigation is ongoing.
