CLOSE TO 20,000 individuals got their Covid-19 vaccinations in Cebu City after local officials resumed their vax operations on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021.

Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, head of the Cebu City Health Department (CHD), said they were able to vaccinate around 19,473 individuals for three days from Dec. 27 until Wednesday, Dec. 29.

The 19,473 individuals were the new batch of vaccinated persons in Cebu City after the city resumed its operations less than two weeks after Typhoon Odette (Rai) hit Cebu.

Of the 19,473 newly vaccinated individuals, 7,749 were vaccinated on Monday, Dec. 27 while 6,163 were vaccinated the next day.

On Wednesday, Dec. 29, the CHD was able to vaccinate 5,525 individuals.

Ibones said the city’s vaccination sites will remain open even on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

The city’s current vaccination sites are Robinsons Galleria, SM City Cebu, SM Seaside City Cebu, Robinsons Cybergate Cebu, Iconique and Cebu City Hall.

The City is also offering Covid-19 vaccinations at “pop-up” sites established at these areas: Pardo Elementary School, Barangay Tinago Gym, Tejero Gym, Quiot Gym, Basak San Nicolas Shopwise and Talamban Elementary School.

Once the City resumes its vaccination activities on Jan. 3, 2022, the Covid-19 vaccination sites will include Robinsons Galleria, SM City Cebu, SM Seaside City Cebu, Robinsons Cybergate Cebu and Iconique while the pop-up sites will be Pulangbato Gym, Barangay Luz Sitio Calinao Gym, Talamban Elementary School and Cebu City Hall.
