Paz Radaza gets donation from Bongbong, Sara

CONGRESSWOMAN Paz Radaza received aid from presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice-presidential candiate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for the victims of Typhoon Odette (Rai) in the lone district of Lapu-Lapu City.

Marcos Jr. and Duterte-Carpio personally handed over the assistance on Dec. 30, 2021 that includes P1 million in cash donation, 2,000 sacks of rice and 10 sacks of slippers.

“I would like to thank Mayor Inday and Sir Bongbong for these relief goods and cash donation that you donated for the Lapu-Lapu City. This is such a big help for the Oponganons,” said Radaza.

Radaza met with the barangay captains on Dec. 31 to discuss the distribution of the assistance and tasked Association of Barangay Captains President Eddie Cuizon to divide the sacks of rice among the 19 barangays situated in the mainland of Lapu-Lapu.

Radaza said the P1 million will be used to purchase rice that will be given to the island barangays.

As of 3 p.m. of Jan. 2, 2022, the Lapu-Lapu City Government recorded a total of 96,290 households that were affected by the typhoon, 22,040 of which were destroyed while 74,250 were damaged.

According to its assessment, the damage to structures owned by the City has reached a total of P478 million, not including public hospitals in the mainland and Olango Island.

Repairs for school buildings in the mainland and island barangays will cost the City P310 million, while repairs for barangay halls will reach P52 million.
