CASH incentives worth P5,000 will be given to those who helped to restore power and order in areas in Cebu Province that were heavily affected by Typhoon Odette (Rai).
In a Sugbo News report, Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia said the Provincial Government will give cash incentives to linemen of the Cebu Electric Cooperative (Cebeco) 1, 2 and 3 and to the Visayan Electric Company for their efforts to restore electricity in some areas in the Province since after Typhoon Odette made landfall in Cebu more than two weeks ago, and to the Cebu Police Provincial Office personnel for helping in clearing roads.
Also qualified for the cash aid are linemen from other areas in the country who were deployed to Cebu to help in the reelectrification efforts.
Garcia said the Province wants to acknowledge their efforts in fast-track the reelectrification of affected areas and the clearing of major roads in order to make way for the immediate provision of aid to typhoon survivors.
“This is our appreciation for our distribution utility workers that worked day and night and even during the holidays. And for ensuring that we will be able to have power again, especially (in our) vital facilities,” Garcia said in a press conference on Monday, Jan. 3, 2021.
In the meantime, the Province is currently finalizing the list of linemen and police officers who are eligible to receive the cash incentive.
