Makimura Ramen Bar now open at SM City Clark

HOMEGROWN ramen shop Makimura Ramen Bar has opened its newest branch at SM City Clark.

Makimura Ramen Bar is famous for its high-quality, soft, and smooth noodles in tonkotsu broth served with pork belly, ajitamago, kikurage, negi and mayu (black garlic oil).

Makimura is also known for its signature Aka Ramen served with a kick from nanami togarashi or Japanese chili powder.

Other flavors worth trying are pesto flavor-Midori Ramen, and fresh squid ink flavor-Kuro Ramen.

The ramen shop also offers popular Japanese side dishes including a selection of maki and sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, ebi tempura, gyoza, and takoyaki.

Makimura Ramen Bar traces its humble beginnings at a parking lot along Barangay Balibago in 2018.

Couple Mark Anthony Ong and Vickee Dela Cruz are the brains and hands behind the famous ramen bar.

“In the Philippines, a good bowl of ramen is expensive. So, we thought why not open a ramen shop that offers good tasting noodles, but at an affordable price,” Dela Cruz shared.

The first Makimura Ramen Bar was a small bar with a seating capacity of seven and three employees. Fast forward to three years later, the ramen shop now has eight branches and 130 employees.

“We have are planning to open more branches this year,” Dela Cruz said.

Makimura Ramen Bar is located at SM City Clark’s ground floor, in front of SM Hypermarket.
