Active Covid-19 cases in Pampanga rise to 4,040

THE total number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) active cases in Pampanga continued to rise and is now at 4,040, as 857 new infections were logged on Wednesday, January 12.

The Department of Health’s (DOH) official coronavirus tracker placed the total number of confirmed cases in the Pampanga since the start of the pandemic to 73,148 with 67,630 recoveries.

Coronavirus-related deaths in Pampanga have reached 1,745 cases, said the DOH.

Pampanga reported 3,147 Covid-19 cases in the last 14 days, while Angeles City reported 937 for the same period.

Three people have died from the disease in the last 14 days.

Majority of the 47 health facilities in the province are now experiencing an increase in the number of bed occupancies. The rate of occupancy in the region is currently at 54.5 percent, one of the highest yet this year. This means that only 555 of the total 1,219 hospital beds in Pampanga are currently available.

Three health facilities are currently at high-risk level. The province currently has seven health facilities in the critical category.
