NO RESTRICTIONS yet have been imposed for air, land, and sea travel in and out of the Davao City after it has been placed under Alert Level 3 from January 14 to 31, 2022.

Generose Tecson, head of the Davao City Tourism, said on Thursday, January 13, 2022, they are still waiting for advice from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) or an issuance of a Department Order for implementation of new policies.

“Note that Davao City has no restrictions or requirements for travelers by air, land, and sea,” said Tecson. “But we will defer to IATF and its attached agencies for guidelines and protocols.”

In the National Capital Region, Department Order 2022-001, or the order Limiting Public Transportation Access to Vaccinated Population in the National Capital Region Under Alert Level 3, has been issued by the Department of Transportation.

Tecson said a similar “no vaccination, no ride” policy is not yet being considered by the City.

Earlier, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said she is not in favor of policies restricting the movement of unvaccinated individuals.

“Why will we make it difficult for people nga nipili nga dili sila magpabakuna nga wala man gisulti nga mandatory ang bakuna (Why will we make it difficult for people that refused to be vaccinated since there was no policy that states that vaccination is mandatory),” said the mayor during an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio on January 10.

Meanwhile, the following activities and establishments are restricted under Alert Level 3: face-to-face classes for basic education, contact sports, funfairs and amusement industries, karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls, theaters, casinos, horse racing, cockpits and other gaming establishments, as well as social gatherings where individuals do not belong to the same household.

A 30 percent indoor capacity for fully-vaccinated individuals and 50 percent outdoor capacity will be allowed for cinemas, meetings, dine-in services, churches, and personal care services.
