THE City Government of Davao will be limiting the movement of minors and the vulnerable population when the city enters Alert Level 3 on January 14 to 31, 2022.

In an online announcement on Thursday, January 13, the local government unit of Davao said intrazonal and interzonal movement is allowed but the movement of minors and the vulnerable population will be limited.

“Individuals aged 18 years old and below and those belonging to the vulnerable population shall be allowed access to obtain essential goods and services, or for work in permitted industries and offices,” the statement read.

According to Davao City Police Office Director Kirby John Kraft, minors are not allowed in public spaces such as malls but essential travel like vaccination or medical appointments are allowed.

“Ang mga 18 years old below, hindi na sila pwede pumunta kung saan-saan kung hindi essential ang kanilang lakad (Unless it is an essential trip, those who are below 18 years old will not be allowed to leisurely go anywhere),” Kraft said. “Bawal na rin po sila sa mall (This includes trips to the malls).”

Kraft added that quarantine control checkpoints in the city will be used to enforce policies under Alert Level 3 and individuals caught violating the movement restrictions will be issued a citation ticket for violating the minimum public health standards.

On the other hand, face-to-face classes for basic education are suspended but are allowed for select tech-vocational and tertiary or higher education programs.

Individual outdoor exercises are allowed for all ages, as per the announcement of the City, regardless of comorbidities or vaccination status.

The Alert Level 3 status of Davao City is in effect from January 14 to 31, 2022.
