FOR the second consecutive year, one of the country’s biggest festivals, the Sinulog, will have limited activities due to the ongoing global health crisis. Although street dancing and parties are off the table, we can still celebrate Cebu’s flavors by feasting in some of the city hotels’ buffet spreads especially prepared for the occasion.
Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino
When: Jan. 14 and 15 (dinner); Jan. 16 (lunch and dinner)
The Sinulog Weekend Buffet at Waterfront Cebu’s UNO will include fiesta staples such as Cebu lechon, pochero, sinuglaw, balbacua, Larsian-style barbecue and lechon baka. Call the hotel to book a table.
Mezzo Hotel

For “Saulog sa Mezzo,” groups of four can enjoy a dinner buffet at a discounted rate. Lechon belly and Pinoy barbecue are just some of the mouthwatering items that await guests. There’s also an exhibit of Sto. Niño images at the hotel lobby from Jan. 10 to 16.
Radisson Blu Cebu

Radisson Blu Cebu celebrates Sinulog and Cebuano traditions throughout the years with Feria’s signature dishes and the province island’s specialties. Guests can also dance to the beat of the world-famous Sinulog dance.

The weekend buffet at Cafe Marco will feature Sugbusog favorites such as Cebuano humba, street food like ginabot, grilled seafood, itlog maalat and more, on top of the restaurant’s international buffet spread.

Crispy Cebu lechon belly takes center stage at Misto’s Festive Buffet for Sinulog weekend. Barbecued meats and other Filipino specialty dishes are also part of the sumptuous feast.
Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown

A “grab-all-you-can” dinner will be set up at the Mactan Newtown Al Fresco where guests can create their own “Sinulog stir-fry” with deliciously marinated barbecue items. There will also be a Sinulog bazaar, live band performances, Sinulog dance presentations and a fireworks display over the Sinulog weekend.
Bai Hotel Cebu

A banquet of Filipino fiesta favorites is begging to be devoured at Bai Hotel Cebu’s Cafe Bai. It’s “Saulog” buffet will highlight the best of local cuisine. A traditional Sinulog dance will also be performed at the hotel lobby at 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. from Jan. 14 to 16. S
