THE three suspects who were implicated in the death of 10-year-old Kiara Mae Namanama denied participation in killing and raping the girl.

The three, accompanied by their employers, went to the Talisay City Police Station Friday, January 14, 2022 and told the police that they were still working when the

incident happened.

Earlier on Thursday, January 13, 2022, 18-year-old Ian Rey Baculi, the first suspect who was arrested in connection with the death of Namanama, admitted in an interview with lawyer Ruphil Fernandez Bañoc during his radio program on dyHP that there were four of them who performed the gruesome act.

He did not disclose, though, the names of the three other perpetrators during the interview.

Kiara Mae was found dead by the city’s police and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office personnel in a cave in Sitio Napo, Barangay Tapul, Talisay City, southern Cebu on January 9, 2022, three days after her parents had reported her missing.

He was strangled, held under water, then killed before she was sexually abused.

Meanwhile, Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, Talisay City Police Office chief, said that Baculi told him that Namanama had appeared to him.

Caballes said Baculi also showed a video clipping of the girl's voice. (Benjie Talisic, TPT)
