27,021 active coronavirus cases recorded in Central Luzon

THE number of active coronavirus cases in Central Luzon have now reached a total of 27,021, according to the latest data from the Department of Health’s (DOH) virus tracker.

On Friday, January 14,, some 4,127 new cases were recorded in the entire region. This brought the total number of confirmed cases in Central Luzon since the start of the pandemic to 310,263.

Some 277,041 of the said confirmed cases have since recovered from the virus.

The continuing rise has been propelled by the holiday increase of cases from provinces like Bulacan with its 14,483 active cases, Pampanga with 4,715 active cases, Nueva Ecija with 2,112 active cases and Bataan 2,275 active cases.

In Bulacan alone, some 14,930 cases were recorded in the last 14 days compared to 4,781 cases in Pampanga for the same period. Some 2,084 cases were also recorded in Nueva Ecija along with 2,084 cases in Tarlac in the last 14 days.

Deaths from the virus since the start of the pandemic have reached some 6,201 cases.

Bulacan province had the greatest number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic with 120,301, which is almost half of all recorded cases in the region. Bulacan was followed by Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.
