Mabalacat police seize P1.7M worth of shabu

THE Mabalacat City police recently confiscated P1.7 million worth of shabu from three suspected drug pushers in Barangay Santa Maria, Mabalacat City.

The suspects -- Alvin "Buru" Cortez, Rosalinda "Seelin" Dizon and Orlando Cortez, all residents of Xevera Subdivision in Barangay Tabun, Mabalacat City -- were arrested during the anti-illegal drugs operation.

Lieutenant Colonel Herly Bruno, city police chief, said the suspects yielded 250 grams of illegal drugs with a street value of P1.7 million.

Drug pushing and possession were filed against the three, according to Bruno.

"The Mabalacat City police continue its anti-illegal drugs drive and anti-crime operations. We will fight all forms of criminality and lawlessness anchored on the marching orders of our provincial director, Colonel Robin Sarmiento and regional director, Brigadier General Matthew Bacccay," Bruno said.

Meanwhile, the city's Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested Mabalacat's Top 1 Most Wanted Person.

Kenneth Samia of Madapdap Resettlement Center was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 114 in Angeles City in connection with a robbery in an inhabited house of public building or edifice devoted to worship.

No bail was recommended by the court for Samia in connection with his offense.

Mayor Cris Garbo commended Bruno and his men for the accomplishments.

The mayor said he fully supports the city police's campaign against illegal drugs and crimes.
