THE City Health Office reported on Saturday, January 15, 2022, that Cagayan de Oro logged 80 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The increase in the number of new cases recorded in the city in the past few days brought the number of active Covid cases to 449, of which 103 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) and other hospitals in the city, 326 were outpatients, and 20 returning overseas Filipinos/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs).
According to City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, of the 80 new cases, three were ROFs, 50 were local index cases, 14 were local cases with link, 12 were authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and one Apor with link.
The cumulative number of infections in the city was at 20,907.
The city also registered three new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 19,605.
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remained at 853, with no new Covid-related death recorded in Cagayan de Oro.
