THE Local Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (LIATF-EID) announced that no “Sunday lockdown” will be imposed even as Zamboanga City has been placed under Alert Level 3 effective January 16 until January 31.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, who chairs the local IATF-EID, said the Sunday vaccine bubble will continue implementation as an incentive for fully vaccinated individuals.

A total of 526,092 individuals representing 75.72 percent of the target 694,696 eligible population are fully vaccinated in this city, according to the City Health Office.

Salazar said all establishments with fully vaccinated employees may reopen to the general public at such capacity allowed by the current Alert Level Status, catering to fully vaccinated individuals, who shall present their authentic vaccination cards before they are allowed entry into the establishment.

All other persons are advised to stay indoors and avoid getting out except for the following instances: those who will attend Sunday mass; Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) personnel, security front-liners, essential workers and those people going out for emergency purpose; and, individuals scheduled for vaccination during Sunday, if any.

Meanwhile, personnel from different police stations and operating units under the Zamboanga City Police Office are continuously conducting security duty amid the health pandemic.

These include the conduct of checkpoint, roving and foot patrols, paneling and sanitation, border control and coastal and seaborne patrol among others, as they remain steadfast in their mission to ensure public safety and protection. (SunStar Zamboanga)
