Classes in Pampanga suspended January 17-21

THERE will be no classes in all public schools in Pampanga starting Monday, January 17, until January 21, 2022.

This, after the Department of Education (DepEd) Pampanga Division announced the implementation of an academic health break during the five consecutive school days.

In the Division Memorandum No. 15 S. 2022 it issued, DepEd-Pampanga said the suspension of classes is implemented to ensure the recuperation of all coronavirus-infected teachers and students in the province.

"It also aims to curb the further spread of Covid-19 variants within our division and communities as we are currently under Alert Level 3 classification by the National Inter-agency Task Force," the directive read.

During the suspension of classes, DepEd said schools are to put on hold all synchronous and asynchronous classes, submission of academic requirements and conduct of teaching-related activities.

Meanwhile, DepEd said private schools may exercise their discretion in the suspension of classes and other activities based on the severity of the Covid-19 risks in their respective areas.
