THE number of new coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro continued to rise, with 124 additional cases reported over the weekend.
The city now has a total of 21,031 Covid-19 cases.
The City Health Office said of the 124 local cases, two were returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and 122 were local transmissions.
According to City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, of the 122 new local cases, 60 were local index cases, 14 were local cases with link, 34 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), eight were Apors with link, and five were persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).
The city also recorded one mortality over the weekend.
The active cases in Cagayan de Oro went up to 556, of which 130 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 406 were outpatients, and 20 were ROFs/LSIs.
Over the weekend, the city recorded 14 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 19,621.
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 854.
