THE Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas has classified Aklan province as under “critical risk” for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Dr. Bea Camille Natalaray, spokesperson of DOH-Western Visayas, said they are continuously monitoring the prevalence of Covid-19 cases in provinces.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases recently announced that Aklan is under Alert Level 3 from January 9 to January 31, 2022.
With the recent classification, Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores issued Executive Order 3, Series of 2022, which requires all employees in both public and private establishments to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
The Department of Education also suspended face-to-face classes in three schools in Aklan, namely, the Laserna Integrated School, Banga Elementary School and the School for Philippine Craftsmen in Malinao, Aklan.
The Aklan Bankers Club also announced that bank operation in the province will only be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Under Alert Level 3, prohibited activities include face-to-face classes, contact sports, fun fairs, and casinos, among others. (SunStar Philippines)
