In fact, they can sleep well these days as a pre-election survey in a big part of Mabalacat City shows that all of its members from Mayor Cris Garbo, Vice Mayor Geld Aquino and its 10 candidates for councilors are all shoo-ins for their gunned posts.
The survey, known to be coming from an independent source is said to have been commissioned by the Powers that be of the province.
Recent news reports even carried the survey with Garbo enjoying a lofty 74 percent peg while his running mate at 64 percent. Call them Wonder Twins, Dynamic Duo, Simon and Garfunkel, Ernie and Bert. Joseph and Benjamin, et al, etc. They are the tandem to beat.
Their lead over rivals, in Kapampangan they say is like "pibarilan" (gunshot speed and distance) as the closest are 20 percent (Boking Morales) and 31 percent (Christian Halili), respectively.
While elections are still less than five months away, the lead seems insurmountable. One must remember that in 2019, the lead of Garbo and Aquino were stratospheric at 21,000 for each. That was even without the vaunted block voting of one religious group.
Without an iota of doubt, Mayor Garbo would win and so would Atty Geld. But they need to check the members of their team -- how they behave in public (and private), how they speak and how they position themselves.
I fancy not myself as a political analyst but I can tell when there is something wrong. Like when the left hand does not seem to know what the right hand is doing, like when there is sleeping with the enemy, like when somebody wakes up with fleas. All that can be spotted from miles away.
Both Mayor Garbo and Vice Mayor Aquino are like good shepherds. They tend to their flock well. But there are some feedbacks out there that I am pretty sure they have heard of.
