MULTICAB franchise holders or Filcab in Davao Region were recently included in the fuel subsidy program of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-Davao.

LTFRB-Davao Director Nonito Llanos said that Filcab units have reached 58 percent of the total number of registered units in the region, thus it was important for Filcabs to be included in the subsidy program.

“The service contracting program last year for example, I was able to propose with the Board regarding the inclusion of Filcab as they compose more than half of the registered units in the Region,” said Llanos on Tuesday, January 17. “This time in the recent Fuel Subsidy, the Board already included Filcab in the IRR (implementing rules and regulation).”

Through this, Filcab franchises are now entitled to P7,200 fuel subsidy for the year 2022 and it can be claimed using the Pantawid Pasada Program (PPP) cards in all participating fuel outlets in the region.

“All they needed to do is make sure their usual franchise documents are all inorder and updated,” said Llanos.

He added that beneficiaries can easily claim their PPP cards in Land Bank branches in the region.

The list of Filcab PPP Holders was posted online in LTFRB-Davao’s official Facebook page on January 14 where beneficiaries can check the schedule and branch of their card releasing.

“Our office enrolled them and all there is left to do is claim the card and change the pin,” said Llanos.

The beneficiaries of the fuel subsidy program in Davao Region now total 7,265, as per the Davao City Information Office. The government allocated P1 billion for the subsidy program for 136,000 beneficiaries nationwide.

The regional director said that in the previous years, only diesel-using units and traditional public utility jeepneys nationwide were included in the subsidy program.
