THE Pag-Ibig (Pagtutulungan sa Kinabukasan: Ikaw, Bangko, Industriya at Gobyerno) Fund opened its new Member Service Office (MSO) in Catarman, Northern Samar Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Leo Larraga, head of the Pag-Ibig Fund Calbayog Branch, said the “huge potential” in the province is the reason why they picked Catarman as the location of their second office in the whole of Samar Island.
According to the Northern Samar Provincial Information Office, Catarman alone “has about 11,000 out of the more than 13,000 members in the province.”
“When we had the data gathering, we were able to see the rich potential here. Business is growing through the years and, based on our monthly reporting, we would see Catarman is really growing,” said Larraga.
In a press statement, the provincial information office said members in Catarman would not need to travel to Calbayog for their Pag-Ibig Fund transactions, citing Larraga.
“The MSO can process claims (retirement, maturity) and short-term loans (multi-purpose loan, calamity loan). You may file for your housing loan here; however, we transmit that to our Calbayog and Cebu Branches for processing,” Larraga said.
The Pag-Ibig Fund Catarman MSO is located at the Old Capitol Site in Barangay Dalakit. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.
The opening of the new Pag-Ibig Fund Catarman MSO was made possible through a memorandum of agreement signed between Pag-Ibig Fund and the Northern Samar Provincial Government.
