Visayan Electric's reenergization up by 2% after restoring  79.62 percent of power supply on January 20

THE Visayan Electric Company had restored power supply to 79.62 percent or 377,555 of its 474,182 customers who lost power supply during the onslaught of Typhoon Odette (Rai) in its franchise area in Metro Cebu as of 12 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022.

The reenergization efforts of Visayan Electric jumped by 2.07 percentage points on Thursday from 77.55 percent (367,738 households) on Wednesday, January 19.

The number of Visayan Electric's customers who still have no power supply had dwindled to 96,627 as of 12 p.m. Thursday.

The power distributor had promised to restore power to 100 percent of its affected customers by January 31.

In an earlier report, Visayan Electric's reputation manager Quennie Bronce said they are confident that they can meet their target.

Visayan Electric has been repairing poles and power lines a day after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette, which devastated parts of central and southern Cebu on Thursday evening, December 16, 2022.
