Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba: Ready to take on new role

BACOLODNON PNP spokesperson Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba said he is ready to take on his new role after President Rodrigo Duterte granted his promotion from a rank of Police Colonel to Brigadier General.

Alba was grateful for his promotion and he thanked the President for granting it.

He also thanked his family and friends for recognizing his hard work and believing in his capacity and capability.

"I’m truly grateful for all the prayers and support that helped me to get to where I am now. Madamu gid nga salamat. To our God who belongs this glory. Also, to my family -- my wife Leilani and two daughters Abigail and Angel -- for the love and support to him and his career,” an overwhelmed Alba said.

Alba is a member of the PNP Academy batch 1992, served as OIC of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and provincial director of Iloilo Police Provincial Office, and chief of Regional Operations and Plans Division Police Regional Office in Western Visayas.

He is the husband of veteran broadcaster Leilani, who also served the managerial post at the television giant ABS-CBN.

She said, “A life, which is dedicated to the country, the life which protects the life of others, the life, who does not live for self. This promotion salutes the life of you. It is the reward for your unconditional serving and selfless attitude.”

Mrs. Alba said the celebration of a fearless mind and she prayed that her husband may achieve many more successes no matter how rough the situation is you never step back from taking the challenge.

“The promotion you got pays off your sacrifices and hard work. We are so proud of you,” she also said.

Mrs. Alba also thanked God for His continued protection of her husband and lauded her husband’s mother, Perla, for molding her husband to be a God-fearing person.

Quoting Peter Ducker, she reminded him that rank does not confer privilege or give power, rather, imposes responsibility.

Singer Token Lizarez, a co-host of Leilani in their digital talk show and a close friend of the couple, extended her congratulations to Brigadier General Roderick Augustus Alba.

"I have witnessed your hard work, dedication, and sacrifices. My salute to you my dear friend, for a well-deserved promotion. I believe this is a big step into a successful military future. The star will cost you more responsibilities, tighter schedules, more hard work, and yet this is what makes you closer to your success. I am waiting for a treat from you and this calls for a celebration. Congratulations on this brilliant success and to GOD be the glory," she said.

Alba's family also wishes him all the best in his chosen career.
