Covid-19 cases breach 200 mark in Cagayan de Oro

THE City Information Office witnessed a jump in new Covid-19 cases with 232 persons testing positive in Cagayan de Oro.

According to the City Health Office, of the 232 new cases, 12 were returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and 220 were local transmissions.

Of the 220 new local cases, 137 were local index cases, 36 were local cases with link, 26 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 10 were Apors with link, and nine persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

The city also recorded two mortalities.

The new cases were reported in Barangays Carmen, Lumbia, Kauswagan, Macasandig, Bulua, Patag, Balulang, Gusa, Camaman-an, Bugo, Nazareth, Cugman, Tablon, Lapasan, Iponan, Bayabas, Canitoan, Pagatpat, Agusan, Mambuaya, Barangay 35, Barangay 30, Puntod, Barangay 25, Macanhan, Indahag, Barangay 8, Bonbon, Barangay 15, Barangay 40, Barangay 22, Barangay 6, Macabalan, and Consolacion.

The cumulative number of infections in the city is now at 21,535.

The city health noted a rise in the number of active cases in the city.

Cagayan de Oro logged 967 active cases.

Of the figure, 227 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 702 were outpatients and 38 ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 57 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 19,710.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 858.
