THE Army's 1st Infantry "Tabak" Division (ID) has installed a new Intelligence Staff Officer in a change of chief of office ceremony Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Installed by Major General Generoso Ponio, 1ID commander, as the new intelligence officer of the division in a simple ceremony is Colonel Danilo Ambe, who replaced Colonel Joel Lobitaña.

Ambe vowed to enhance the Division's Intelligence capabilities and capacities to execute its functions and fulfill its mission.

Ambe, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1995, completed in 2021 his Master in National Security Administration (MNSA), the main academic program of the National Defense College of the Philippines.

Ambe was previously assigned as intelligence officer of the 8th Infantry Division based at Camp General Vicente Lukban, Catbalogan, Samar.

His assignment with the "Tabak" Division is not new to him since Ambe was first assigned with 1ID as a young Lieutenant.

He was then reassigned to other Army units after serving the Tabak Division for nine years.

Lobitaña will be reassigned to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Lobitaña served the Tabak Division as intelligence officer for almost two years.

His office addressed the intelligence requirements of the command, the higher headquarters, and subordinate units.

It also contributed to the overall output of the 1ID as depicted in the command's numerous accomplishments in the field of internal peace and security operations.

Lobitaña thanked all the officers and enlisted personnel he worked with, from the Division Intelligence personnel, Battalion Intelligence Officers, and the members of the rifle company of the different battalions under the Tabak Division.

He was also grateful to Ponio for his confidence and trust when designated as the intelligence officer of the 1ID.

Ponio congratulated Lobitaña for all his accomplishments and future endeavors.

Ponio challenged Ambe to be a good team player and accomplish more. (SunStar Zamboanga)
