Bacolod City extends business one-stop-shop

THE Bacolod City Council has approved the extension of the Business One-Stop-Shop (Boss), as well as the deadline of payment of business taxes fees and charges until March 31, 2022.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said on January 17, Mayor Evelio Leonardia asked the City Council to pass a resolution for the extension of the deadline for filing of business permit and license for the year 2022, and for the first quarter payment of business taxes, fees, and charges without penalties and surcharge until March 31 with 10 percent discount on one-time payments.

In his letter, Leonardia said the resolution will provide for the mandatory extension of deadlines for the payment of taxes, fees, and charges imposed and collected by the local government unit and provide guidelines, pursuant to Republic Act 11494 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

The resolution, authored by Council Al Victor Espino, was approved during the regular session of the City Council on Wednesday afternoon, January 19.

The City Government held its Boss at the fourth floor of Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Familiaran said the representatives of the barangays will also stay at the mall.

He said the extension of Boss is a big help to business owners to comply with all the requirements of the business permits.

Through the one-stop-shop, business owners can fast track the processing of permits, and save time and money since all agencies and offices they need to transact with are together under one roof.
