THE City Health Office reported on Saturday, January 22, 2022, 161 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) that brought Cagayan de Oro's total caseload to 21,857.

According to the City Health Office, of the 161 new cases, five were returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), and 156 were local transmissions.

Among the 156 new local cases, 101 were local index cases, 28 were local cases with link, 18 were authorized persons outside residence (Apors) and nine Apors with link.

The city health noted a rise in the number of active cases in the city.

Cagayan de Oro logged 1,215 active cases.

Of the figure, 281 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 891 were outpatients and 43 ROFs/LSIs.

The total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro was at 19,780.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remained at 862, with no new Covid-related death recorded in Cagayan de Oro.
