THE Visayan Electric Company had restored power supply to 84.3 percent or 399,782 of its 474,182 customers who lost power supply during the onslaught of Typhoon Odette (Rai) in its franchise area in Metro Cebu as of 12 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022.

The power distributor's reenergization efforts of Visayan Electric jumped only by 0.76 percentage points on Sunday from 83.54 percent (396,168 customers) on Saturday, January 22.

Only 74,700 customers of Visayan Electric had no electricity as of 12 p.m. Thursday. This number constitutes just 15.75 percent of the power supplier's total affected customers.

The power distributor had promised to restore power to 100 percent of its affected customers by January 31.

In an earlier report, Visayan Electric's reputation manager Quennie Bronce said they are confident that they can meet their target.

Visayan Electric has been repairing poles and power lines a day after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette, which devastated parts of central and southern Cebu on Thursday evening, December 16, 2021.

Power distributors from outside Cebu deployed linemen to help Visayan Electric in the post-typhoon power restoration efforts.
