THE local government of Magalang has declared an academic break from January 24 to 28, 2022, as the number of Covid-19 cases in the town continue to grow.
Magalang Mayor Romy Pecson issued Executive Order Number 2 Series of 2022, declaring the suspension of classes from
elementary to college in all public and private schools in the municipality.
The municipal government stated this is in consideration of the increasing number of students and teachers suffering from Covid-19 and flu-like symptoms.
During the academic health break, all synchronous and asynchronous classes will be put on hold, while submission of academic requirements and conduct of other teaching related activities must be moved to a later date.
"Sa mga panahong ito ay hindi muna magkakaroon ng activity, online class o pagpasa ng kahit anumang gawain,"
Councilor Koko Gonzales said.
"Ang break ay gagamitin upang makapagpahinga at lubos na maging malusog at malakas ang mga guro at mag-aaral laban sa anumang sakit," he added.
The local government recorded 14 new cases of Covid-19 on January 22.
There were also 134 active cases and 11 patient recoveries in the town as of January 22.
