THE total amount of P4,789,636.90 was generated by the Department of Education (DepEd)-Central Luzon through the Regional Fund Drive for the benefit of affected DepEd personnel in hard-hit areas of Typhoon Odette.
This amount is the highest among those generated by non-affected DepEd regions as reported by the DepEd Office of the Assistant Secretary for Field Operations Malcolm Garma.
The said Regional Fund Drive mobilized the associations of education officials, principals, teachers, and office personnel to send voluntary financial contributions to help DepEd personnel in Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga.
The donations were facilitated by the Central Luzon Association of Schools Superintendents (Class), DepEd National Employees’ Union (NEU) Region III Chapter, Philippine Elementary Schools Principals Association (Pespa)-Central Luzon, Philippine Secondary Schools Principals Association (PSSPA)-Central Luzon Chapter, and the DepEd
Regional Office III.
For the complete breakdown of the donations made, the report may be accessed at the DepEd-Central Luzon website region3.deped.gov.ph. (Michelle Catap Lacson/PR)
