EIGHT drug personalities in Bacolod City were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 past 7 p.m. Monday, January 24.

They were Edmar Escala, 24, and Jon Segovia, 42, both residents of Purok Narra Baybay in Barangay 8; Jose Marie Divino, 30, of Purok Masagana in Barangay 6; and Eduard Cubias, 33, of Purok Hanapbuhay, Barangay Pahanocoy.

Also arrested were April Rose Perez, 27, and Gabriel Decker, 18, both residents of Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2; Hermogenes Gacho, 22, of Purok Kabuhi, Barangay 10; and Eduardo Perez, 36, of Purok Masagana, Barangay 6.

Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects were arrested after one of them sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Police recovered from the suspects eight sachets of shabu weighing three grams with estimated market value of P20,400, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

Gabana said the suspects were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

The suspects, detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2, will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
