THE Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has ordered an investigation into the allegation of a woman that her husband was punched by a high-ranking police official following a car accident on Jan. 20, 2022 in Argao town, southern Cebu.

A certain Suzette Camanse posted on her Facebook page to air her side over the non-cooperation of the police to act on her complaint that she filed at the Argao Police Station about a police colonel who allegedly punched her husband during their verbal altercation when their car hit the tailend of the colonel’s car at 8 p.m. on Jan. 20.

But Lt. Col. Mark Gifter Sucalit, deputy director of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, clarified in a media interview that there was no mention of a mauling incident involving a colonel in the police blotter but only a mere vehicular accident.

Camanse, however, has not yet filed a formal complaint on the matter.

“She has not filed a formal complaint yet but as to the matter of our standard operating procedure, that will be investigated,” Sucalit said.

Sucalit advised the public not to air their complaints on their Facebook page, but instead go directly to the police for the conduct of an investigation.
