CEBUANO big man William McAloney has chosen to become a restricted free agent after deciding not to renew his contract with the Blackwater Bossing.

Even though Bossing head coach Ariel Vanguardia was high on the former University of San Carlos Warrior, even likening him to a young Vic Manuel, the 6-foot-5 forward elected to test the free agent waters. Blackwater, though, has the right to match any offer the left-handed big man receives.

McAloney was the 15th overall pick of the 2019 PBA Draft. Originally picked by NLEX, the brusque big man was traded to Blackwater along with Mike Ayonayon in a deal for Marion Magat. McAloney played five games for the Bossing and normed 4.4 points on 47 percent shooting along with two rebounds.

Vanguardia, though, said that he is open to welcoming McAloney back to the team if he decides to return.
