Cebeco 3 restores power to 85.08% on January 26

THE Cebu III Electric Cooperative (Cebeco 3) had restored electricity to 85.08 percent or 89,716 of 105,452 affected households in its franchise area as of 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

Cebeco 3 still has to restore the power supply to 15,736 households.

The franchise area of Cebeco 3 comprises the City of Toledo (38 barangays) and municipalities of Pinamungajan (26), Aloguinsan (15), Balamban (28) and Asturias (27) on western Cebu.

Cebeco 3 also serves outside its franchise area eleven mountain barangays in Cebu City.

The areas served by Cebeco 3 were badly affected by Typhoon Odette (Rai) on Thursday evening, December 16, 2021.

Typhoon Odette toppled power lines and poles, causing a blackout in Cebeco 3’s franchise area.

According to Cebeco 3 in its report, the power restoration efforts in Balamban had reached 98.24 percent after electricity returned to 22,940 of 23,352 households. Only 412 households remain without power.

Cebeco 3 aims to restore the power supply in the town to 100 percent by January 31.

In Asturias town, the electricity had returned to 96.41 percent or 11,428 of the 11,853 total households served by Cebeco 3.

Cebeco 3 aims for full restoration of electricity to the remaining 425 households by January 28.

Power supply had been restored to 87.58 percent or 12,516 of 14,291 households. Cebeco 3 aims to restore electricity to the remaining 1,775 households by January 31.

In Aloguinsan, electricity returned to 5,582 (85.98 percent) of 6,492 households, and the remaining 910 households are expected to get back their electricity by January 31.

Toledo City still had 10.432 households that had no electricity as of January 26. This after power supply returned to 35,284 (77.18 percent) of 45,716 households. Cebeco 3 aims to complete the restoration by either January 30 or January 31.

In the 11 barangays of Cebu City served by Cebeco 3, the electricity had been restored to 52.45 percent or 1,966 of 3,748 households. The target to fully restore the power in these villages is January 31. (KAL)
