23,767 active Covid cases recorded in Central Luzon

THE number of active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Central Luzon has reached a total of 23,767, slightly lower than previous days, data from the Department of Health’s (DOH) virus tracker showed.

On January 26, Wednesday, 1,335 new cases were recorded in the entire region. This brought the total number of confirmed cases in Central Luzon to 345,054, of which 314,987 have recovered.

The rise in the number of infections has been propelled by cases from provinces like Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija and Bataan.

In Bulacan alone, 11,209 cases were recorded in the last 14 days compared to 7,243 cases in Pampanga for the same period. Some 4,085 cases were also recorded in Nueva Ecija and 2,742 cases in Tarlac in the last 14 days.

The death toll has reached 6,300.

Bulacan province has the highest number of confirmed cases with 132,054, which is almost half of all recorded cases in the region. Bulacan is followed by Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.
