Angeles to start jabbing children 5-11 years old

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said the City Government is gearing up for the vaccination drive of children aged 5 to 11 years old starting this February.

With the city’s logistics, manpower, and resources, Lazatin said they are now ready to inoculate children ages 5 to 11.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said the city will provide all the needs for the children’s vaccination to ensure their health and welfare, with the help of Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, also head of the Vaccination Committee on Ways and Means.

Calaguas is also the chief implementer of the city’s vaccination program.

In addition, Manuel said the city has already purchased all the ancillary supplies needed for the vaccination of its targeted population.

While waiting for the guidelines set by the Department of Health for the inoculation of the children, City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra is now in coordination with volunteer-pediatricians who are set to be deployed at the mega vaccination sites, once the children’s inoculation has started.

To recall, there were 64 pediatricians who volunteered to assist the City Government during the inoculation of minors on November 2021.

The City Government’s vaccination drive for booster shots of Angeleños is now ongoing via the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay, and is still open for residents who are not yet vaccinated with the first dose.

To date, 353,229 Angeleños are fully vaccinated, 315,462 received their first dose and 18,316 got their booster shots.
