THREE weeks after three of its members including their leader were killed, another alleged member of the Cuadra Robbery Group was shot dead by unidentified suspects in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

Lieutenant Jonito Pastrana, deputy commander of Police Station 2, identified the victim as Donald Joseph Casiano of Glendale Homes Subdivision, Barangay Granada.

Pastrana said Casiano had just visited the wake of Arnold Cuadra, alleged leader of the robbery group, in Purok Sigay when a misunderstanding ensued between him and other unidentified visitors inside the house.

This prompted Casiano to go home, he said.

While Casiano was walking towards his vehicle, an unidentified man fired at him several times and fled on foot along with his companions, Pastrana added.

Casiano, who was in his early 20s and also working as a delivery man, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot, the police said.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime five empty shells of .45 caliber and the wallet of the victim.

On January 8, Cuadra alias "Aki,” 30, of Villa Homes Subdivision, Barangay Vista Alegre in Bacolod City, was found dead at a riverbank in Barangay Villamonte.

On the same day, his three other companions identified as Jhundelle Rafols, 25, his cousin Leonil Rafols, 26, and Rene Boy Dacillo alias "Kogan,” 30, were also found dead in separate areas in Murcia and Bago City.

Pastrana said they are eyeing personal grudge as a possible motive in the killing of Casiano which was perpetrated by more than two suspects.

He said Casiano was tagged by his group as the one who revealed the location of Cuadra and their companions to the armed group that resulted in their death.

“While the police were conducting an investigation on the case of Cuadra in Barangay Villamonte, Casiano was also seen at the area and was also present in Murcia where the other victims were found dead,” he added.

Pastrana added that there is a possibility that Casiano was killed by his colleague in the group.

Pastrana also asked the cooperation of the residents in Purok Sigay to help them in the investigation to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
