THE Cagayan de Oro Covid-19 vaccination team is now preparing for the Nationwide Senior Citizens Vaccination Day, which is set to happen on January 31, 2022.
The Nationwide Senior Citizens Vaccination Day is an activity led by the Department of Health to speed up the vaccination rollout in the senior citizen sector.
The theme of the said simultaneous vaccination activity is "Pagpangga sa mga Lolo ug Lola Pinaagi sa Pagbakuna."
According to City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, they are currently checking the number of unvaccinated senior citizens per barangay in the city in preparation for the one-day vaccination event.
Yu added that vaccination for other priority groups will continue even during the Senior Citizens Vaccination Day.
"Tuloy pa rin po ang ating vaccination even during the National Senior Citizens Vaccination Day. Di po tayo titigil sa lahat ng caetgorties, even those outside of the city welcome pa rin sila," Yu said.
Based on the data from the City Health Insurance Office, as of January 26, 46,010 senior citizens in Cagayan de Oro have been fully vaccinated.
